Tickets and Seating

Family, friends and other guests are cordially invited to attend UNL commencement and may sit in any non-reserved seats other than the main floor, which is set for the graduates, faculty, and dignitaries.

Tickets are not required for the ceremony.

Handicap seating for commencement guests is available in sections 106, 107, 110, 112, 114, 117 and 118 on the main concourse level of the Pinnacle Bank Arena. 

Representatives from the American Red Cross are present at UNL commencement and are located on Level 3 at Gate 112. If you need additional assistance or have questions about seating, please see an Arena Usher.

Parking

City campus lots are free of charge without a permit for Commencement Parking on Saturday, May 9.

Paid
parking is available in City of Lincoln Public Parking Garages as well as the Pinnacle Bank Arena Garage. The arena drop off area is located on the south side of Pinnacle Bank Arena (R Street). Note: Canopy street and the road directly in front of Pinnacle Bank Arena will be closed to vehicles starting at 9:30 am. 

$3 (per car) parking is available in the Festival Parking Lot, just north of the arena. Access to the north parking areas is from Sun Valley Blvd. Take Sun Valley Blvd. to Line Drive. Follow Line Drive to the parking area. A pedestrian bridge connects the north parking area (Festival Space) to the area.

Marching Order

Graduate Ceremony (Friday)

Doctoral graduates are hooded and receive their diplomas first. Order in which Doctoral degrees are awarded:

  • Doctor of Philosophy
  • Doctor of Education
  • Doctor of Musical Arts
  • Doctor of Audiology
  • Doctor of Plant Health

Masters graduates receive their diplomas next. Masters diplomas are distributed alphabetically by degree, as listed in the commencement program.

Undergraduate Ceremony (Saturday)

Bachelors degrees are awarded by College. Students receive their diplomas alphabetically within their College.
